Alaskan Story: Debbie and Geoff Wilson
It
is said in the Yacht Charter industry that the vessel attracts the
clients and the crew brings them back. In the last 5 years 82% of
those chartering with Alaska Yacht Charters have been either repeat
clients or referred by past clients.
Geoff and Debbie have owned and operated charter yachts in Alaska
for 20 years. Geoff is an attorney who practiced in Philadelphia,
San Francisco and Seattle. He turned to the sea when the law proved
too dry. He is United States Coast Guard licensed and has chartered
the waters of Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean and the north and south
Pacific since 1974.
Debbie was born and raised in the islands of the Pacific Northwest.
She has a B.A. in business. She has cruised from Juneau, Alaska
to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and back; three times.
She is, with the possible exception of
Nancy, the best cook afloat.
Alaskan Song: Nancy and Richard
Friedman
Richard and Nancy purchased the yacht Explorer in
1994 and cruised it extensively in New England, the East Coast and
through the Panama Canal up the West coast to Alaska.
Richard has been "on the water" all his life. He
first sailed as a young boy on the Long Island Sound. From 1972
until 1984 he commercially fished the West coast from Santa Barbara
to Alaska. Richard has been Coast Guard licensed since 1984,
chartered his own vessel the Explorer in SE Alaska since 1996 and is
a certified Alaskan Naturalist.
Nancy came to the Northwest from the deep South to
study theater at Western Washington University. She has cooked at
several restaurants in her home town of Bellingham and is returning
to the charter business after having raised her three boys. She
brings taste and culture to her culinary creations that are certain
to delight our guests.
